Chloé

Chloé

If Chloé were a woman, she would play the guitar barefoot in a floor-length gown and read poetry on her lunch break. Capture a little of that charm when you enter the bohème world of this Parisian Maison.

The original Woman Designing for Women, Gaby Aghion founded Chloé in 1952, naming her fledgling brand after her friend. The first ever collection featured six cotton poplin dresses, which sold out. To this day, the brand has retained this sense of minimalism.

Aghion pioneered a brand that could be sold off the peg, without the need for endless couture fittings. Shirtdresses, blouses and cigarette tailoring were highlights then, and today is no different. Now headed by Clare Waight-Keller, Chloé is every cool girl’s ultimate fantasy.

n 1966, the then-fresh-faced Karl Lagerfeld had taken the position of Creative Director, making Chloé over to become one of the defining labels of the seventies, loved by Brigitte Bardot, Grace Kelly and Jackie Kennedy.

Stella McCartney took over in 1997, followed by Phoebe Philo in 2001. Now headed by Clare Waight-Keller, this Parisian House’s shows are always eagerly anticipated and draw crowds of fashion press, celebrities and bloggers. Chloé and its diffusion line See by Chloé consistently deliver collections of bags, accessories, dresses, skirts, blouses and so much more.
